Dr. Adelstein is a 1990 graduate of UOMHS Des Moines, Iowa. While in medical school he was a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Honors fraternity. He performed a rotating internship at Mt. Clemens General Hospital in Michigan and was the Chief Intern 1990-1991. Following this he completed his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, having been the chief of medical education. He won the prestigious Scott A. Norris award for medical writing for his paper on “Ultrasound use as a practical method to evaluate cervical length as a predictor of pre-term delivery.” Dr. Adelstein is a graduate of MA College of Pharmacy receiving a B.S. Degree in Pharmacy and Nuclear Pharmacy. After this he was in the process of receiving his masters in Nuclear Health Physics and teaching physics at the University of Lowell.
He returned back to MA in 1995, to join the practice of Dr. Robert Tripp and TRIAD OBGYN. He has been practicing at Tobey Hospital and Charlton Hospital since 1995. His Academic Appointments include Adjunct Clinical Professor at Des Moines University and preceptor clinical professor at Midwestern University.
He presented a poster at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopist in Washington D.C. (2007). Introducing Sure-Sound: A safe and effective uterine sounding device. Research work has included, Johnson and Johnson personal care division (K-Y Warming Gel) and Boston Scientific, performing the FDA studies on the next generation HTA device.
Currently he is on the Board of Trustees for the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Recent appointments include Chairman of Professional Ethics and Standards Committee of the ACOOG. He also serves as council member for the continuing medical education and Government Affairs committee of the ACOOG. In the State of Ma. he is on the council of legislation for the Massachusetts Medical Association, as well as a mentor for physicians for the Board of Registration of Medicine. In the past he has been President of the Massachusetts Osteopathic Society and has done multiple lectures for many state society meetings across the country including being the key note speaker at the Manhattan Obstetric Society yearly meeting.
Dr. Adelstein is married, and has learned to be a father and husband through his wife and two daughters. He enjoys horseback riding, politics and taking care of his many animals he has on the farm and an occasional card game. He is currently accepting new patients.
