Dr. Joycelyn Vardo, a New Bedford native, graduated from New Bedford High School in 1994. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Pre-Medicine from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.

Dr. Vardo graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME in June 2006 where she was a member of both Psi Sigma Alpha, [an academic honor society], and Sigma Sigma Phi, [a service honor society]. She then began her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. During residency, she was awarded the Dr. Curtis J. Lund award for her research on “Elective Labor Induction in Nulliparous Women and Risk of Cesarean Delivery” as well as the Urogynecology Award. Dr. Vardo was an Administrative Chief Resident at the University of Rochester from 2009-2010.

Dr. Vardo is highly trained in advanced laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Vardo is currently accepting new patients.
